Multidisciplinary Care

Cancer is a complicated disease which can affect many areas and systems in the body. Treatment of cancer and care for people with cancer is most effective when there is involvement from a variety of medical and allied health care professionals. Professionals involved in multidisciplinary care include, but are not limited to:

Surgeons

Medical Oncologists

Radiation Oncologists

Cancer Care Nurses

Psycho-oncologists

Haematologists

General Practitioners

These professionals create a multidisciplinary team and collaborate to tailor an individual treatment plan for each patient.
